Cornell Notes System Kya Hai?
Walter Pauk ne 1950s mein Cornell University mein yeh system develop kiya. Aaj yeh duniya mein sabse widely used note-taking system hai. Idea simple hai: ek page ko 3 sections mein divide karo — Notes, Cues, aur Summary.
Page Setup (5 minute mein)
- Right column (70% width): "Notes section" — padhai ke dauran main notes yahan likhо
- Left column (30% width): "Cue column" — baad mein keywords, questions, aur main ideas yahan add karo
- Bottom strip (6-7 lines): "Summary section" — page ka brief summary 24 ghante ke andar likhо
5 Steps Mein Cornell Notes
Step 1 — Record (Padhai ke Dauran)
Right column mein notes likho — complete sentences nahi, bullet points aur abbreviations. Jo important lage woh, apne words mein.
Step 2 — Questions (Baad Mein)
24 ghante ke andar, left column mein aise questions likho jinka jawab right column mein hai. Jaise "Kya tha Quit India Movement ka main demand?"
Step 3 — Recite (Active Recall)
Left column dekho, right column chhupao, aur questions ke answers yaad karne ki koshish karo. Yahi active recall hai.
Step 4 — Reflect
Yeh information aur kya aap jaante hain se kaise connect hoti hai? Koi examples hain? Koi contradictions?
Step 5 — Review (Weekly)
Har hafte summary sections padhо — sirf 10 minute mein poore week ka material review ho jaata hai.
UPSC Ke Liye Cornell Notes
GS papers ke liye yeh approach best hai:
- Notes column: NCERT/standard book se main facts
- Cue column: Prelims-style questions (MCQ format)
- Summary: Mains answer writing ke liye 3-4 line summary
Is method ko Pomodoro Timer ke saath combine karo — ek Pomodoro notes lena, doosra cue questions banana.
