UPSC Ki Padhai Ratta Nahi, Understanding Chahti Hai
Bahut students ek badi galti karte hain — woh har cheez yaad karne ki koshish karte hain. 2 crore+ applicants mein se sirf ~1000 select hote hain. Jo alag karta hai unhe? Depth of understanding, not volume of memorization.
Phase 1 — NCERT Foundation (Months 1-3)
NCERT sirf basic nahi hai — yeh UPSC ka backbone hai. Discovery Method se padhne ka tarika:
- Pehli reading: Sirf padhо, highlight mat karo — big picture samjho
- Chapter khatam hone ke baad: Blank paper par main points likho (active recall)
- Concepts ko Feynman Technique se apne aap ko explain karo
- Maps aur diagrams khud banana seekho — sirf dekhna nahi
- Subjects ek doosre se connect karo: History ka Geography se, Economy ka Polity se
Important: NCERT Class 6-12 ke yeh subjects zaroori hain: History (6-12), Geography (6-12), Political Science (9-12), Economics (9-12), Science (6-10).
Phase 2 — Standard Books aur Current Affairs (Months 4-8)
NCERT foundation strong hone ke baad standard books kaafi easier lagti hain:
- Polity: Laxmikanth (par NCERT ke baad)
- History: Bipan Chandra, Spectrum Modern History
- Geography: NCERT + GC Leong physical
- Economy: Ramesh Singh ya NCERT + The Hindu Economy coverage
Current Affairs Daily Routine:
- Ek newspaper: The Hindu ya Indian Express — editorials zaroori
- Current events ko syllabus topics se connect karo
- Monthly magazine sirf revision ke liye, daily source nahi
Phase 3 — Answer Writing Practice (Months 6 onwards)
Answer writing UPSC mein sabse neglected aur sabse important skill hai. Structure:
- Introduction: Definition ya context (2-3 lines)
- Body: Multiple angles — social, economic, political, environmental
- Conclusion: Way forward ya balanced view (2-3 lines)
- Time: 7.5 minutes for 150-word answer
Daily minimum 2-3 answers likhо. Peer review ya mentor feedback se improvement aati hai.
Revision Schedule — Spaced Repetition
Random revision kaam nahi karta. Is evidence-based schedule ko follow karo:
- Day 1: Topic padho
- Day 3: Blank paper test karo
- Day 7: Flash cards review
- Day 21: Full notes review
- Day 60+: Before prelims — quick revision
